ADDING RAILINGS TO AN OPEN PORCH

In this remodel the handrails leading up the steps to an open porch seemed to be missing something. The customer wanted to dress up the front open porch with 2x2 balusters and rails.

I wanted the porch railings to look like they were always there. This did present some problems as the porch was a cement floor with brick facings. I drilled holes in the brick to accept steel pins to hold the 4x4's securely in place.

The top and bottom rails were scribed to the circular columns, cut and sanded for a clean tight fit. Here two corners were also crafted to bring the existing step railings together. This eye appealing detail was the finishing touch to this porch. Cal and Mindy the furry family members will now be safe and comfortable lounging on their porch.

This shed was custom built for a John Deere Lawn Tractor to live in. Jeremey wanted a shed that was not only eye appealing but storage worthy. Barn doors in the front and a Man Door on the side for easy access to storage and a workbench.

Here are some pictures of the shed being built. Heather and Jeremey were expecting their first child and chose to turn their garage into the baby room. Losing the garage as storage I was under the gun as Heather seem to grow by the day and the two projects had to be completed on time. By the way Mom, Dad, baby Derik and Lucky, the golden retriever are all quite happy with the remodeling projects.
